Review rules
These rules apply to parents’ reviews, questions and answers, and to schools’ replies. A moderator reads all text before it is published.
When a post goes live
| Post | Goes live |
|---|---|
| New or edited review with scores only | At once |
| Review with text | Once a moderator approves it |
| Review that was sent back, once fixed | Once a moderator approves it |
| Question or answer | Once a moderator approves it |
| The school’s reply to a review or answer to a question | Once a moderator approves it |
Always rejected
A post with any of these is rejected, and its writer is told which rule it broke.
- Health details about staff
- Accusation of a crime or abuse against someone identifiable
- A name of a staff member or child
- Details that point to one person without a name
- Contact details or ID numbers
- Threats, hate speech or slurs
- Advert or not about the experience at this School
- The school's reply or answer confirms anything about a pupil
A child who has been harmed
A post describing a child being hurt or abused is rejected, because it does not belong on the site. We show its writer where to report: 112 for a child in danger now, child protection through 112, and the municipality’s school office.
- A child hurt or abused
Sent back to fix
A post with health details about a child, your own child included, is sent back so they can be taken out and the post sent again.
- Health details about a child
Criticism is allowed
A negative, harsh or unfair-seeming review is never rejected on that ground alone. It only has to follow the rules above.
How moderation works
- A moderator approves a post, rejects it, or sends it back, and names the rule. A moderator never edits text.
- An AI reads the text first and flags possible problems. It decides nothing; a person makes every decision.
- A new post is checked within 2 working days.
- Every published post has a “Report” button. A report that may concern illegal content, such as an allegation, health details or a name, is checked within 1 working day, and the post is hidden while it waits.
- When a post is removed, its writer is told why.
Your review
You can edit your review while your child attends and for 3 years after they leave. You can take it down at any time. A published review stays up until you take it down.
A review that was sent back can always be fixed, even after the 3 years. Then only its text can change, not its scores or when your child attended.
